These terms govern your access to and use of Handled, a business management application for service businesses. By creating an account or using Handled, you agree to these terms.

The Service

Handled provides tools for managing leads, jobs, estimates, invoices, vendor bills, customer relationships, and related business operations, including optional integrations with Stripe for payment processing and QuickBooks Online for accounting sync.

Your Account

You're responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials, the accuracy of the business and financial data you enter, and managing access for any staff members you invite.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to use Handled to violate any law, infringe on anyone's rights, or interfere with the service's operation or security. You're responsible for how your business uses the data and functionality Handled provides.

Third-Party Connections

Handled integrates with third-party services including Stripe and QuickBooks Online, which you may choose to connect. These connections are optional and governed by the applicable third party's own terms in addition to ours. You can disconnect these integrations at any time; disconnecting stops new data from syncing but does not affect records already created in either system.

Payments & Billing

If you subscribe to a paid plan, you agree to pay the applicable fees. Payment processing for your own customers' invoices, if you use Stripe, is handled directly between you, your customers, and Stripe under Stripe's own terms.

Data Ownership

You retain ownership of the business data you enter into Handled. We don't claim ownership of your customer lists, job records, or financial data — we store and process it to provide the service to you.

Termination

You may cancel your account at any time. Handled reserves the right to terminate accounts that violate these terms, with notice where possible.

Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. Handled does not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure.

Limitation of Liability

Handled shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages resulting from your use of the Service, including reliance on synced accounting or payment data — you're responsible for verifying the accuracy of your own business and financial records.

Changes to Terms

Handled may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

Handled ("we," "us," "our") provides business management software for service businesses. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices available to businesses using Handled and their customers and staff.

What We Collect

Account information: your name, email, phone, and business details when you sign up.

Business operational data: customer and lead contact details, job and estimate records, invoices, vendor and bill records, and photos or notes attached to jobs.

Payment information: if you connect Stripe to accept payments, Stripe processes and stores cardholder data directly — we don't store full payment card numbers.

Accounting connection data: if you connect QuickBooks Online, we store the authorization tokens needed to sync your bills, vendors, and payments to your books.

Staff time tracking: if you use staff scheduling, we store clock-in/clock-out timestamps tied to the staff member and job.

How We Use It

We use your information to provide the core service, sync data to third-party services you explicitly connect (like QuickBooks and Stripe), send transactional emails like invoices and estimates on your behalf, and maintain the security and reliability of the service. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

Third-Party Services We Use

Handled is built on Supabase (database and authentication), Netlify (hosting), Resend (email delivery), and — only if you connect them — Stripe (payments) and QuickBooks Online (accounting sync). Each processes data on our behalf under their own security commitments.

Data Retention and Disconnection

If you disconnect an integration like QuickBooks, we stop syncing new data to it, but your existing records in Handled and in that service are unaffected. If you close your account, your data is retained briefly for account recovery, then deleted, except where we're required to retain records for legal or accounting purposes.

Your Staff and Customers

Staff members access a portal via a unique link scoped to their own schedule and hours. Customers may receive invoice emails or a payment link related to their transaction; we don't use their information beyond that.

Security

We use encrypted connections (HTTPS) for all traffic, database-level access controls that prevent one business from accessing another's data, and secure storage of connection credentials for third-party integrations.

Your Rights

You may request a copy of your data, correction of inaccurate data, or deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us.
